The first panel of fabric for the yarn-to-coat (YTC) project is completed (see other blog post for explanation). I love how this looks! This will be the right front of the coat. I have five more panels to do; left front, back, and two sleeve. I may also make a collar panel. Either way, I will prepare a muslin pattern for one as I will do for the other sections. I will post again after I have finished the back. That section will take the longest to finish.

This right front panel measured 24″ wide and 41″ long before it was felted. After felting, it measured 17 1/4″ wide and 31 1/4″ long. It required approximately 550 yards of worsted blue Wool of the Andes yarn and the same of worsted natural Wool of the Andes yarn. The panel is 1/8″ thick; perfect for a winter coat.
